Dear Paid Subscribers
This one is for you. In gratitude for supporting my writings and work.
A story. Live on zoom. Let’s gather. Hunker in. Cozy up. Wear your pajamas. Or a fox costume. Make yourself a pot of tea. Bring some colored pencils or pastels. A notebook for drawing/coloring and journaling. A candle to light. For the hearth and transformative flame. A small bowl of water, for flow. To bring moisture to the story. To water it. To catch the grief or longing of it.
Let’s call in the Story. Let’s catch her wise and ancient mystery.
I tell all my folk - first, may we feed the story. How do you feed a story?
Use your intuition. Go outside and say: Story, story, I welcome you!
Leave an offering on your altar, or outside your window. Leave a treasure for the fox woman of Story. Offer a gift to the sparkling star of story or to the gnarly nutrient dense roots. Bang a gong. Tinkle a bell. Sing a song. Howl.
Make a mandala out of pinecones.
Thank the story before she arrives.
Coax her, track her, sense towards her.
Feed the story, she blooms new possibilities in you.
Anywhich way, before 12/1 at 1pm Mountain time -take a moment -in your heart/mind/body on the land or in your sacred space…and feed the story. Tune into what that means for you, for you uniquely you. Physically doing something intentional is a way of telling the spirit of the story —I see you —I am longing for you —I am hungry to meet you. I am curious to know you. I am willing to be transformed by you.
You may or may not know the story I am called to tell: Leaving the One Eyed Story. (Not its original name, but the name that has come through for me). A Siberian folk tale told ago, ago. Martin Shaw said that this story was once only told to the women of the tribe who were becoming shaman. It’s that kind of wonderful. This story. I want all women to know this story. I want men to know this story. I want all fox spirited folx and to know this tale.
It has a curious path. A sparkling scent. But also ordeals.
It is about leaving stories. and becoming.
It’s about seeing one’s true reflection.
It’s about change.
