Mornings are Wiser than evenings, said the doll in her pocket. Vasalisa’s intuition was just there, below the surface. She fed it every day. Her name means Empress or Queen, in Russian. I like to call her by her diminutive name, in Russian, which is. Vasalisushka, or Vasya. Either way -she is not quite queen, when she embarks on her quest to the more than witch of the ancient Russian not quite here, not quite there forest. She leaves after completing her tasks. And then she embarks on her next phase of the journey, to become a Queen.
You know this story. If you have read the book, Women who Run with the Wolves, you know this story and love this story, and have loved this story longer than a ball of yarn outstretched.
I am asking you to surrender. To let go of what you know. To come like a child, for the once upon a time, not quite here, not quite there…to discover in your own being, where you are inside of this story today. How does she move through you? What does she awaken in you? What does she ask of you? What does she speak through you? How does she write of passage through you?

I hope to see you in under an hour. Feed the story before we gather. Sing a song to the story. Call out her name. Give her a little nibble of bread or a drop of cream or honey or wine. Make a little altar on the earth floor or snow. Bring a candle to our journey. We light our way, we write our way through the dark, and emerge with a light, stronger, brighter. We stand at a crossroads. We release the past and we meet our destiny somewhere in the middle. One step at a time, we follow the guidance of the within, to become the Queen of our reality. After a long time of hardship. Hard won, Hard worn. Like cinderella…you have been doing the work….you have been doing the work. Let’s gather some reward.
